Overview
Custom field mapping gives you complete control over how data flows from LinkedIn to your CRM system. This powerful feature allows you to define exactly which LinkedIn profile information and enriched data gets mapped to specific fields in your CRM, ensuring data is organized according to your team's workflow and requirements.
Accessing Field Mapping Settings
To configure your field mappings:
Navigate to CRM Settings in the left menu
Select Field Mappings section
Choose between two available tabs:
Contact - For mapping individual LinkedIn profile data
Company - For mapping LinkedIn company information
Understanding the Field Mapping Interface
The field mapping interface is designed with a simple two-column layout:
Left Column: Source Data
Displays all available LinkedIn profile fields (more than 30 fields including Name, Job Title, LinkedIn Bio, Employer, and many more)
Shows enriched data fields (Professional Email, Phone Numbers, etc.)
For Company tab: Shows LinkedIn company fields
Right Column: CRM Field Selection
Contains dropdown menus with all available contact or company fields from your connected CRM
Only displays Phone and Text field types that are supported
Other field types (like multiselect) are filtered out and won't appear in the dropdown
Contact Field Mapping
In the Contact tab, you can map any of the 30+ available LinkedIn profile fields to corresponding contact fields in your CRM. Common examples include:
Name → Contact Name field
Job Title → Job Title field
LinkedIn Bio → Description or Notes field
Employer → Company field
Profile Contact Information ->Email → Email field
And many more fields covering comprehensive profile information like location, experience, education, skills, and additional contact details.
Simply select the appropriate CRM field from the dropdown next to each LinkedIn data field you want to sync.
Company Field Mapping
In the Company tab, you can map LinkedIn company information to your CRM's company or account fields. This ensures that when contacts are added, their associated company data is also properly synchronized to your CRM.
Mapping Enriched Data
Enriched data mapping works similarly to LinkedIn profile mapping, but offers additional flexibility for handling potentially conflicting information.
Option 1: Map to New Fields (Recommended)
When you map enriched data to new, unused CRM fields, both LinkedIn and enriched data are preserved:
Example:
LinkedIn: Profile Contact Information → Email
Enriched: Professional Email → Prof_Email (new field)
Result: Your contact will have both the LinkedIn email and the enriched professional email in separate fields.
Option 2: Map to Existing Fields (Data Overwrite)
When you map enriched data to a field already used for LinkedIn data, the enriched data will overwrite the LinkedIn data:
Example:
LinkedIn: Profile Contact Information → Email
Enriched: Professional Email → Email (same field)
Result: The LinkedIn email will be replaced with the enriched professional email.
When to Use Each Approach
Use New Fields When:
You want to preserve both LinkedIn and enriched data
Your team needs to compare different data sources
You have CRM fields available for additional contact information
You want to maintain a complete data trail
Use Existing Fields (Overwrite) When:
You prefer enriched data over LinkedIn profile data
You want to keep your CRM fields minimal and organized
Your workflow prioritizes the most accurate/current information
You trust enriched data quality over profile data
Disabling Enriched Data Sync
If you don't want certain enriched data to sync to your CRM:
Locate the enriched data field you want to exclude
Leave the corresponding dropdown blank or unselected
The system will not send that enriched data to your CRM
Example: If "Professional Email" is left blank in the mapping, enriched email data stays only in LeadCRM and won't be pushed to your CRM.
Supported Field Types
Currently, custom field mapping supports:
Text fields - For names, job titles, descriptions, etc.
Phone fields - For phone numbers and contact information
Email fields - For email addresses
Other CRM field types (multiselect, picklists, etc.) are not currently supported and won't appear in the dropdown options.
Best Practices
Plan Your Mapping Strategy:
Decide whether you want to preserve both data sources or prioritize enriched data
Create dedicated CRM fields for enriched data if you want to maintain both datasets
Configure both Contact and Company mappings for comprehensive data flow
Review Field Compatibility:
Ensure your CRM fields can accommodate the data type and length
Test mappings with a few contacts before full deployment
Monitor Data Quality:
Regularly review how mapped data appears in your CRM
Adjust mappings if data isn't flowing as expected
Getting Started
Navigate to CRM Settings → Field Mappings in the left menu
Start with the Contact tab to configure individual profile mappings
Switch to the Company tab to set up company data mappings
Review available LinkedIn and enriched data fields (30+ LinkedIn fields available)
Select appropriate CRM fields from the dropdowns
Test your configuration with a sample LinkedIn profile
Adjust mappings based on results
Remember, you can always modify your field mappings later as your workflow evolves or new CRM fields become available. A complete history of all mapping changes is available at the end of the field mappings section for your reference.
